Okay… probably not a bang. More like a handful of glitter.
Good news is that I have already submitted my first piece of the year (some flash fiction), and I also posted part six of Box of Secrets on Patreon for my Patrons (it will be open for public reading this Friday). Posting on Patreon has made me feel again like I am getting somewhere and not getting stuck in a little-to-no-writing-rut.
I am also going to post a new Afrikaans piece on INK by this Friday and will try to translate it over the weekend to post it here in English come next Monday.
My “skeleton” idea list is quite long after the holidays (during which the ideas come at the weirdest times), so I am going to try and write up three of the ideas as flash pieces for January.
I still need to finish the outline for Porselein, and I had a brain wave, which means that I need to incorporate some new elements in the part that I have already outlined.
To help me with the outlining, I’m using K.M. Weiland’s books Outlining Your Novel and Structuring Your Novel. I can highly recommend them to other writers as well – especially if you are more used to pantsing your stories than planning them. (I am also making use of these books for outlining The Ruon Chronicles.)
Besides all of that (which seems a lot more now that I’ve actually written it all down…) I am also finishing up part seven of Box of Secrets. Part eight and a possible part nine has been macro outlined, and these micro outlines I’ll do once I’ve finished part seven.
