Starting The Box of Secrets Parts 6 and 7
I posted part five for my Patrons last week — at last! — and have now started on the final parts of The Box of Secrets.
I’ve plotted out what happens and cleared up the few snags I’d had before, so now I can just sit and write. (Mild spoiler) The story is slowing down a bit after a big fight scene, but it is still far from over.
It is also now starting to link stronger with the “main story” of The Ruon Chronicles, which is making me excited about the story all over again.
All in all there is going to be eight parts (not nine, otherwise I’m just going to split the last bit into two for no apparent reason). I am then going to spend October both plotting for NaNoWriMo in November and putting some last touches on The Box of Secrets before I make the complete book available to read.
Besides finishing The Box of Secrets, I am also busy with the “Aidan Wright” story (read some of the preparation for it over here) and have a few other bits and pieces that I am slowly working on. My main focus, for the next few months, however, will be on The Ruon Chronicles.
In saying that, my goal is to have the (new and final) macro outline done by the time NaNowriMo rolls around.
The outline, though, is not completely new — more like improved. I had not expected the Knowledge Stones to be so important in the end and now I must include it in the main epic as well. (Yes, I just referred to my own work as epic. I promise that it is going to be both epic and awesome.)
Camp NaNoWriMo and the plan forward
I ended up reaching the 10K word goal that I had set for myself in July, of which about seventy percent was spent working on The Box of Secrets. I am going to try and build on that amount in the coming months and I have a few days’ vacation in August of which I hope to spend at least five days just writing *does happy dance*.
My crocheting and knitting is still going strong and you can see all the things I get up to on Trebles On My Mind over here.
